Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Balagarh district is grappling with heightened tension following an incident of vandalism at the office of Trinamool MLA Manoranjan Vyapar, intensifying factional conflicts within the party. The unrest deepened with Trinamool leader Runa Khatoon filing a complaint against MLA Manoranjan Vyapar at the local police station.
The tension arose from allegations made by Runa Khatoon, claiming that objectionable content was posted on social media in her name by the businessman MLA. Despite the post's deletion, its screenshot went viral, leading to a formal complaint lodged at Balagarh police station on Thursday morning.
To address the escalating situation, the police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) conducted a route march in the area on Thursday afternoon.
The previous night witnessed an attack on the MLA's office in Ahmadpur, Jirat, allegedly orchestrated by individuals associated with Runa Khatoon.
